As >tv-commercial-connoisseurs, we love how far this small-town lawyer pushed the envelope. It's got suspense, intrigue, crooks, name-calling. Calling out the local judge breaks down the fourth wall of TV commercials (which prevent them from making any references to reality) with a wall-breaking righteousness not seen since Berlin! However, as decent people, we feel that using the death of one's family members to peddle your legal services is a low point for commercials. For shame. That's just bad.
This was the biggest day of the year for us, but the ads have been sorely lacking. Few were new, those that were new weren't that good. We're calling it: This is the year the Super Bowl ad died.
But we guess we give the Vince Ogilvy Trophy to Audi's doberhauhau... which, interestingly, can be considered a better execution of Ford's "And is better" campaign.

'Muppets Most Wanted' takes to the airwaves to protest it's omission from the Golden Globes. We applaude their perfect execution! :D
Chipotle's new new ad is pointed and poignant. We especially love the juxtaposition of the innocence associated with a child-oriented art form (and an exquisite voice) and the greed and manipulation of capitalism and marketing.
The Nissan commercial where people are "dropping everything" to go buy cars is so moronic it's great! We want more!
On behalf of the planet, we LOVE Skyactiv Technology (unless it becomes self-aware). A noticeable increase in gas mileage without sacrificing "zoom zoom" units. Can we marry Skyactive Technology? We hate Hyundai voice-over guy though. So smug and annoying when he tries to compare a Hyundai with a Mercedes.
We're seriously sick of the of the Mazda/Lorax collaboration commercial. Terrible writing, hideous animated car, and overall a product match-up that makes no sense at all. And what the heck is "Skyactiv Technology"?!?!?!
